The death of an NFL Hall of Fame quarterback
Len Dawson, a Hall of Fame quarterback, entered hospice care in Kansas City, it was announced little under a week ago, shocking the football community.
The Hall of Fame quarterback and broadcaster passed suddenly on Wednesday morning, his family said in a statement. Age-wise, he was 87.
The family issued a statement to KMBC in Kansas City, where Lawson had previously worked as a sports commentator, saying, "With wife Linda by his side,
it is with deep regret that we notify you of the loss of our dear Len Dawson." He was an excellent parent, husband, brother, and friend.
Len was always appreciative of the various connections he established throughout his football and broadcasting professions and was frequently overcome by them.
No matter where his travels brought him, he adored Kansas City and could not wait to go back.
