T.J. Watt's Season Decision
Steelers' Week 1 win against the Bengals was marred by T.J. Watt, the defending Defensive Player of the Year, who may have ripped a pectoral muscle.
Although injuries of this kind are sometimes career-ending, Watt is sure that he will return before the conclusion of the 2022 season for his club.
Currently, Watt and the Steelers are looking for second and third opinions on the injury. Head coach Mike Tomlin expressed optimism on Tuesday that the injury would not finish the season.
Tomlin stated Tuesday, via ESPN, that the team is "probably in a much better spot than we were after the game." T.J. will not play this week against the Patriots, that much I can promise you
but I won't make any promises beyond that. We're optimistic, and we'll keep analysing the issue, soliciting expert insight, and taking the necessary steps.
The Steelers have until the end of the week to decide whether or not to put Watt on injured reserve, which would cement his absence for at least the next four games.
